Temporary Liquor Licenses
In March 2019, City Council approved a new process for temporary liquor licences, delegating authority from City Council to the City Clerk’s Office.
If your BIA is planning an event and require a letter of municipal significance/non-objection for the AGCO, please visit www.toronto.ca/liquorlicence to download an application form.
Each business with an existing liquor licence seeking a temporary extension must submit an individual form. In order to support the coordination of larger events, the City Clerk’s Office will accept a cover email from an event coordinator/BIA with the individual forms for each business attached, rather than have each business submit separately. For an event with a beer tent, the BIA will also require an application for a Special Occasion Permit.
For larger events (> 5000 attendees), contact the City Clerk’s Office for further support on how to apply. If you have any questions, please email liquorlicence@toronto.ca or call 416-392-7036.
If you are unsure about the type of license you require, contact the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
